Terms & Conditions

The Terms and Conditions (T&Cs) below apply to all Sobriety Coaching packages provided by Your Sober Path (‘the coach’), to any individual (‘the client’).  These T&Cs constitute the contract for the service between Your Sober Path and the client.

The term ‘coaching’ covers Sobriety and Wellbeing Life Coaching for clients, provided under the relevant Your Sober Path packages.

The client understands that Your Sober Path does not provide ‘recovery’ or ‘rehabilitation’ services; and none of the packages provided by the coach are suitable for individuals that are medically dependent on alcohol. Coaching is not a substitute for professional mental health care or medical care.

Coaching Disclaimer

In committing to sobriety and wellbeing coaching with Your Sober Path, you acknowledge the following:

  • You understand that your Coach is not acting as a mental health counsellor or a medical professional.  The coaching services you will be receiving from your Coach are not offered as a substitute for professional mental health care or medical care and are not intended to diagnose, treat or cure any mental health or medical conditions.

  • You understand that coaching is not a substitute for counselling, psychotherapy, substance abuse treatment or mental health care; and you will not use it in place of any form of therapy.

  • You understand that coaching is currently an unregulated industry and that your Coach is not licenced or regulated by any UK body even though the sessions take place in England.

  • You understand and agree that you are fully responsible for your well-being during your coaching sessions and afterwards, including your choices and decisions.

  • You understand that results are not guaranteed.

  • You understand that all guidance offered by your Coach is for the purpose of aiding you in achieving the goals as agreed within your sessions.

  • You declare that you, the client, are not medically dependent on alcohol.

  • Although sobriety is not essential to participate in coaching sessions with Your Sober Path, you will not attend coaching sessions under the influence of alcohol or any other substances.

Data Protection and Confidentiality

You understand that your Coach will protect your information as confidential unless you state otherwise in writing.

The coach reserves the right to disclose elements from sessions with the client to her Coaching Supervisor for the purposes of professional development.  Client identities will not be disclosed.

Data Security

You understand that the use of technology is not always secure and you accept the risks of confidentiality in the use of email, text, phone, WhatsApp, Zoom and any other technology.

Session Frequency and Schedule

The coaching schedule will be arranged between the Coach and the client and the first session can be booked up to four weeks in advance.  Your Sober Path will recommend the frequency of coaching sessions based on the package selected by the client.  This schedule is not binding and may be altered and adjusted by mutual agreement.  Session times are approximate but may be shorter if the session reaches a natural close prior to the maximum session time being reached.

Find Your Sober Path

Two 60-minute sessions will be provided, no more than two weeks apart.  To enable ‘homework’ to be carried out by the client, the second session should be no sooner than five days after the first.  The third session, lasting approximately 30 minutes is a 'catch up' session; to see how the client is progressing and talk through any issues they may have experienced.

Design Your Sober Path

Six hour-long sessions, approximately one week apart.  The timescale for the sessions can be extended should there be an established need to do so.  Additional hours can be purchased at a rate of £50 per hour should both the client and coach feel they would be beneficial to achieve the client's individual goal

The sessions are structured in a way that at least the client's first 30 days of sobriety will be guided by the coach.  By signing up to this package, the client understands that abstinence from alcohol is expected for at least 30 days while the coaching is ongoing.

Walk Your Sober Path

Sessions will be provided throughout the 60 (9 hours of coaching) or 90 days (12 hours of coaching).  The structure of these hours will be tailored to the client's individual needs but examples are below.  Additional hours can be purchased at a rate of £.50 per hour should both the client and coach feel they would be beneficial to achieve the client's individual goal.:

Navigate Your Sober Path

Five hour-long sessions approximately one week apart, focused on the client's individual goals and challenges.  The timescale for the sessions can be extended should there be an established need to do so, or additional hours can be purchased at a rate of £50 per hour should both the client and coach feel they would be beneficial to achieve the client's individual goal.  This is for individuals who already live alcohol-free.

1:1 ‘Informed Chat’

One 60-minute stand alone session.

Format of Sessions

With exception of the Free Discovery Call and 1:1 chats which can be via telephone, sessions are by video call either by Zoom (preferred) or Microsoft Teams.  Telephone sessions are available if required.  The coach will provide the client with the meeting details prior to any appointment via email.  It is the client’s responsibility to ensure they have functioning technology and are in an appropriate setting at the agreed time of the session.

The coach will ensure they are available for the session at the agreed time.  Should it be impossible to complete a session due to technological issues on behalf of the coach, the session will be rescheduled at the first possible convenience for both the coach and the client.

Session Fees and Payment

In return for the fees payable by the client, Your Sober Path agrees to provide the service as described above and in accordance with the terms and conditions set out within this document.

The client agrees to pay fees for the service in advance of the first session of the package.  Payment of fees

Coaching Packages

Fees for each package are discussed during the Free Discovery Call; and will be confirmed by the coach by email prior to signing of the client agreement.  Fees will be invoiced by the coach, and will be payable prior to the commencement of the programme.

Any payments for sessions paid in advance are honoured even if prices have risen between the point of booking and the time of session.

Should the client wish to change programmes, for example upgrade to Walk Your Sober Path having signed up for the Find Your Sober Path package, additional costs will be payable prior to the commencement of any additional coaching sessions.  Should the new package be shorter than the package originally signed up for, a refund will be provided less a £25 administration fee.

1:1 Informed Chat

Payment for this session is required at time of booking via the Calendly platform.

Dates and Times of Sessions

1:1 Informed Chat and Free Discovery Chats can be booked online through the Your Sober Path website / Calendly platform.  This will be confirmed by the coach by email prior to the session. In the unlikely event the coach has a calendar clash at the time of booking, a mutually agreeable time will be arranged, or refund offered as applicable.

Subsequent sessions will be arranged by client using the appropriate link for the Calendly booking platform.

Sessions can only be rearranged in accordance with the section in these terms and conditions headed “Rearranging Sessions”.

Between Sessions

Your Sober Path may assign the client tasks or exercises (‘homework’) to complete between coaching sessions. There is no obligation on the client to complete these, but not doing so may slow the client’s progress in gaining their desired goals.

Arranging Sessions

Free Discovery Calls and 1:1 Informed Chats can be rearranged via Calendly with no less than 24 hours notice.

It is the client's responsibility to arrange their next coaching session, using the booking links provided by Your Sober Path for the online booking system.  Gaps in coaching not pre-agreed by the coach will result in the forfeit of coaching hours in line with the timescales set out in the client's coaching package.

If a client needs to rearrange a coaching session, they should provide at least 24 hours notice.  Where possible, Your Sober Path will try to accommodate rearranged appointments within 24 hours notice, however this may not be possible.  No refunds are possible for appointments that are unable to be scheduled in line with the coaching timescale for Walk Your Sober Path clients.

In exceptional circumstances, Your Sober Path may need to rearrange a coaching session. In those instances, the client will also receive 24 hours notice where practical.

Where a client pays for a session or sessions in advance, the coaching session(s) that they have paid for must commence within three months of the payment.  Failure to do this will result in their fee being forfeited.

Confidentiality

Personal information supplied by clients in coaching sessions will be treated as confidential. It will not be disclosed to a third party without the client’s prior permission, except where required by law or where action might be necessary to prevent harm to the client or someone else.

Client details will be kept securely by Your Sober Path in line with the requirements of the law and any professional indemnity insurance policies.

Client details will never be used for marketing purposes except for those opted into by the client on the client agreement form.  Any subsequent request to opt out of marketing received by Your Sober Path via email will supersede the initial agreement.

Termination of Coaching Mid-Package

In exceptional circumstances, such as illness or unavailability due to bereavement or other commitments, inappropriate behaviour by the client, or conflict of interest, or other reasons, Your Sober Path can decide to terminate the service to the client early or refuse or be unable to provide further coaching sessions to the client. In such a circumstance the client will be given reasonable notice of termination by the coach where practicable and will be refunded any advance payments made for coaching sessions not yet provided; proportionate to the package fee.

Should the client need to terminate coaching prior to completion of the package, any refunds will be at the discretion of the coach.

Responsibilities

In line with all coaching, the client has sole responsibility for taking important decisions in their life with regards to sobriety and other goals. The coach has no liability for any loss incurred by any client, whether financial or otherwise, following commencement of coaching sessions, or for any perceived failure by the client, whether justified or otherwise, to achieve a material improvement in their relationship with alcohol or to achieve their desired outcomes or goals.

Variation of Terms & Conditions

Any changes to these terms and conditions intended to take effect prior to the conclusion of those a package will only have effect if agreed by both the coach and the client and confirmed in writing by email by the coach.
